We are Independent Social Work Services (ISWS) offering the following specialist services covering Eastleigh and the South of England (Portsmouth, Southampton, Chichester, Bournemouth and more). We can work directly with families who are involved in Private Law Proceeding's. Throughout our involvement we work with families in a restorative way to ensure the children's voice and welfare is paramount. ISWS works directly with Local Authorities undertaking expert social work assessments (Parent Assess), out of hours visits; statutory CP/CIN and CLA visits, supervised contact and weekend Family Group Conferences.
I am a qualified Social Worker and have worked in social care for over 15 years. I also have a degree in Criminology
and Criminal Justice BSc in 2008. I have spent thousands of hours undertaking direct work with children and families.
My passion and enthusiasm started from my personal childhood experience of being looked after by the Local Authority.
This gives me a unique experience and insight into families and children who are in contact with Local Authorities.
Since the start of my Social Work career I have worked mainly within children and families. I progressed into senior
roles within various teams, including assistant team manager and higher-grade practitioner. My areas of specialism
are child protection, youth offending, restorative practice, systematic practice, parents with learning difficulties
and children with disabilities. I have specialist training to complete PAMS; Parent Assess and AIM 2 assessments.
I have worked in various roles alongside Jeremiah for over 7 years, we have a collaboration of a pool of senior
social workers,
which includes service managers and team managers who will also be undertaking assessments for our service.
I have been working in front line social work for over 8 years. I have worked as a
long-term case workers and assessment social worker. I have spent thousands of hours
undertaking assessment at a high pace to a high standard. Prior to working in social
work, I served as an army medic and have an additional degree in ethnographic studies (observations). Like
Kerry I also have experience of being in foster care for most of my adolescence. Offering me a unique life
experience which can with my academic knowledge inform a non-judgemental and balanced assessments.
The area of my specialism includes restorative conferences and working with complex
fathers, working with parents and children with additional needs, pre-birth assessments
and interventions, parent assess, age assessments, including court reports (Section 7, 37). I have recently
completed a bespoke contact report for the purpose of informing court. I also undertake supervised family time
in the community this can include a range of activities.
To mark our 1st Year as Meller and Petersen ISWS Ltd we are broadening our services. Most recently, we have recruited a Social Worker Assistant, Oluwabunmi Adebimpe aka Bunmi. Bunmi is converting her social work qualification from Nigeria. Bunmi recently helped with the development and delivery of a lecture at Portsmouth University in November 2024. She also undertakes supervised contact and reporting.
I am a social worker with over five years of experience in Nigeria. I am currently linked in with Social Work England and submitted my application for supervised practice as a Social Work Assistant with the support of Meller and Petersen ISWS. I am a member of the British Association of Social Workers. I am dedicated to helping individuals, families, and communities navigate challenges and improve their well-being. I have had experiences providing support in areas such as mental health, child welfare, healthcare, housing, and education. I have engaged in both direct services, such as counselling and advocacy, systematic work, and policy development or community organising. My work has been centred on empathy, understanding, and commitment to social justice, to empower individuals and promote positive societal change. My ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives is central to fostering trust and delivering meaningful assistance.
(Parent) "I would just like to say how grateful I am to Jeremiah. From the first
meeting with both children he has been amazing, and you could see that they immediately
felt at ease with him and they also developed a great friendship with him over a short
space of time."
(Solicitor) "I have sent your details around the firm and recommended you to my colleagues.
Communication has been great from start to finish and I will definitely seek to instruct you in
the future."
